Think of asking a question as your opening sentence.

Tell a gripping fact.

Announce good news.

Get straight to the point.

Use personal pronouns( Us, we, you)

Tell your readers WIIFT... what's in it for them.

Write everything from the readers point of view.

Make good use of white space (not too dense text).

Attract attention to the important parts (Color, Capitals, Bold, Underline etc.).

Increase readability by spacing, bullets, lists)

If your company uses a lot of computers, insert tips on Outlook, Windows, etc. A lot of people, it seems, do not experiment to learn all the things they can use to help them in the office.



Some examples are: Setting "Out of Office" reply in Outlook; Encrypting "My Documents" folder; using auto-filter in Excel, etc...
