This is not a new problem..I am a parent and I simply do not allow my child to watch the channels which have the adverts on...in the UK we have the BBC where there are NO ads at all....if parents are going to allow their kids to watch the ads...then what can they expect?

i did not realize that the number of child targeted ads was increasing. it seemed to me that a lot of ads have always been targeted parents through their children. it is annoying, but i am not really concerned about it.

It's a national problem. And the marketing folks have been winning this for many years.
Yeah, I'm concerned. The problem seems to be that not enough parents are concerned.

it could be that, or they are conditioning kids so that when they're older the kids have 'childhood memories' and give that company profit
