I'm looking to set up an online store but I don't know what ecommerce platform would be best for me.

I'm a graphic designer with not much coding knowledge so some easy to use tools without coding would be ideal. I've researched some major platforms like Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, Volusion but can't make my mind up. It would be great if you could also tell me any I've missed.

If it help, I would probably be selling around 200 items online and I'm looking to pay around £10 ($15) a month.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a pretty deep and comprehensive review on Shopify - http://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/shopify-reviews/

A lot of the points made sense such as their pricing transparency and flexibility with their Apps market which can add a lot more functionality to your online shop very quickly and in a bug-free way.

If your coding experience it limited, I'd consider a hosted solution like shopify or Magento Go. Magento Go has an online template design capability and has loads of functionality.

However, the key consideration must be your requirements - which system best fits them and could evolve as your business does?

I know for the first couple of MC's it was like 1,3,1,3,1,3 Alot of them were 3. I thought the MC was easy and the responses were fair. The economic one you just had to put ANYTHING about more cars, more money, more jobs, etc. What I studied was not on the test! I was hoping it would have questions like "what does a vaccine contain", or something in the area. I know for the finch reponses were easy. I almost left the question empty about drawing receptors, luckly I didn't. For the cell question I just pointed at the cell membrane......and said celluar respiration, which I think I shouldve just said respiration, got that one wrong. The last question was easy with the amino acids. I answered everything....bullshitted alot of responses because believe it or not they accept answers that dont even sound logical.

I would definitely try out Shopify. I am currently a partner with them . They offer a no strings attached 14 day Trial. You can set it up anyway you like to before committing to a subscription. They offer a basic starter package starting at 14 dollars a month. The next tier is 100 items to sell at 29 a month, then 2500 products at 59 a month. I will refer you to them in the link below. Best of luck!

These days, I use Wordpress on a self-hosted website for all of my online stores to-gether with the paid e-commerce plugin WP-eStore from www.tipsandtricks-hq.com. I have used the free version of WP-eCommerce but much prefer WP-eStore.

Wordpress is free and its easy to install and setup with lots of free info & videos on configuring it. There are plenty of free themes available(usually I just add my own header graphic) plus lots of free plugs, for seo, security, social marketing, backups etc.

Costs:Domain name - around US$9.00/10.00 per year. Hosting - good hosting say from Hostgator starts at US$4.00per month and allows for upgrades as your site grows.

These e-commerce plugins handle all product details & variations(number of products unlimited), both physical & digital products, shipping & freight if necessary, payment processors (one is always Paypal).
